A clear, step-by-step way to help your child become confident in the water
We guide you.
You teach them.
They learn for life.
You don’t need to guess your way through this
Most parents want to help their child learn to swim—but aren’t sure what to do, when to do it, or how to know if it’s working.
HomeGrown gives you a clear path to follow, so you can support your child with confidence every step of the way.
The HomeGrown Journey:
Step 1.
Choose your child’s starting point
You’ll begin by selecting the level that matches where your child is today.
Each level is designed around specific skills—so you’re not guessing where to start or what to focus on.
If you’re unsure, you can use the Level Guide or start with Level 1, especially if your child is hesitant or new to swimming.
If you enroll and realize you chose the wrong level, don’t worry — we’ll make it right and help you move to the best fit.
👉 Outcome: You start with clarity and confidence—no second guessing.
Step 2.
Watch the lesson and learn what to do
Each 5-12 minute long lesson shows you exactly how to teach the specific skills in that lesson.
You can watch before you get in the water, or even poolside as a quick refresher.
You’ll see:
-
What the skill is
-
How to teach it
-
What to say and do with your child
-
What to look for as they practice
The lessons are short, clear, and designed for real-life use—not overwhelming or overly technical.
You'll also get a printable lesson guide that you can print out and bring with you to the pool to help keep everything you learned top-of-mind.
👉 Outcome: You know exactly what to do before you ever get in the water.
Step 3.
Practice together (this is where progress happens)
You’ll spend about 10–15 minutes per session, as often as you like (ideally 1-2x/week) practicing with your child.
Sessions are:
-
Short and focused
-
Low-pressure
-
Built around repetition and comfort
You can practice in:
-
A pool (above, below, and even inflatable in lower levels)
-
A lake
-
Any safe water environment
Because you’re working one-on-one with your child, they get:
-
More repetition
-
More attention
-
More opportunities to build confidence
👉 Outcome: Skills start to stick—and your child becomes more comfortable in the water.
Step 4.
Get support when you need it
As you go, you’ll have access to personalized coaching support.
If something feels challenging, you can:
-
Ask questions
-
Ask for feedback on your child's swimming by sending us a video
-
Get guidance from our experts
-
Adjust your approach
You’re not left guessing or trying to figure things out on your own.
👉 Outcome: You feel supported and confident—even when things don’t go perfectly.
Step 5.
Progress with a clear path forward
As your child builds comfort and skill, you’ll move through the program with a clear understanding of what comes next.
You’ll know:
-
When your child is ready to move forward
-
What success looks like at each stage
-
How to continue building independence in the water
You also have lifetime access to the lessons and resources, so you can revisit anything at any time.
👉 Outcome: You’re not rushing or guessing—you’re progressing with intention.
Why HomeGrown Works (even when other programs haven't):
-
Most swim lessons rely on a schedule that works best for the entire program, not individually for you.
👉 HomeGrown works because your child gets consistent, one-on-one practice as often as they need.
-
Group lessons can limit actual swimming time in the water.
👉 HomeGrown works because your child is swimming 1:1 with you 100% of the time.
-
Progress often feels unclear, and you aren't really sure how your child is doing or where they are at in the program.
👉 HomeGrown works because you follow a clear, proven progression, you know exactly where your swimmer is at all times, and you know exactly what comes next.
-
Parents are usually left out of the swim lesson process.
👉 HomeGrown works because you’re actively teaching, building trust, confidence, and independence.
-
Skills can fade between lessons.
👉 HomeGrown works because you can practice when your child is ready, not just when a class is scheduled.
-
It’s easy to feel stuck or unsure what to do next if you are doing this on your own.
👉 HomeGrown works because you have personalized coaching support behind you, so you’re never doing this alone.
-
Traditional lessons move on quickly.
👉 HomeGrown works because you can revisit lessons anytime, ensuring nothing is rushed or missed.
-
Swim lessons often require ongoing monthly costs.
👉 HomeGrown works for your wallet with ongoing access to your materials and support built in.
HomeGrown isn’t about doing more.
It’s about doing it differently—and finally seeing it click.
